Craft

I have become a skilled carpenter and painter based on years of apprenticed training in the Northwestern University Scene Shop and through the experience of building and painting so many of my own shows. Aside from the usefulness of being able to build sets myself, I love engaging in fine craftwork such as building furniture or completing fine finished paintwork, skills which I feel are becoming rarer and rarer in our increasingly machined and printed world.

Along with the objects and paintworks pictured in this section, please note that I engineered, built and painted the sets for all the productions in the Sets gallery except for The Orphan Train.
